How we rank games
The SR Score is our 100-point summary of a game. It has four parts, and we show every part on the game page so you can see where a number comes from. It describes a game’s design; it never predicts what will happen in a session.
RTP: up to 25 points
We take the return to player (RTP) the studio publishes. A game at 92% or below scores nothing here, and every 0.2 percentage points above 92% adds a point, so 97% or higher earns the full 25. Big Bass Splash, at 96.71%, scores 24.
When a studio publishes several RTP settings, we use the headline figure on its own game page and list the lower settings beside it. If no figure is published, the game has no RTP score and we say so.
Win potential: up to 20 points
We use the published maximum win, as a multiple of the stake, on a logarithmic scale: 100x scores 10, 1,000x scores 15 and 10,000x or more scores the full 20. A logarithmic scale stops one enormous headline figure from outweighing everything else. Games with no published maximum, such as Aviator, show “Not published” rather than a guess.
Features: up to 15 points
Each distinct documented feature, such as free spins, multipliers, tumbling reels or a bonus buy, adds 3 points, up to 15. We only count features the studio’s rules describe, and we never give slot labels to crash or table games.
Editor rating: up to 40 points
The largest part is our editors’ own judgement: how clear the rules are, how the base game and bonus fit together, how readable the screen is and who the game suits. It comes from the full written review, not from a short session’s results.
A game shows an overall SR Score only once all four parts are in place. Until then, its page lists the parts that are ready, and nothing is filled in with an average or a guess.
How our lists are ordered
Each list says what it is sorted by at the top of the page.
- Top games and Most played: demo plays over the last month, across the sites that share our demo game catalogue.
- Highest RTP: the studio’s published RTP.
- Biggest max wins: the studio’s published maximum win.
- Highest rated: the average player rating from the demo network, then the number of ratings.
- Newest: release date.
A game only appears on a list once we have checked its RTP, volatility and maximum win against the studio’s information and published a review. Lists are refreshed at the start of each month.
What the score does not measure
The SR Score does not measure luck, forecast results or reward popularity. Player ratings are shown separately because they answer a different question. No studio can pay for a higher score or a better position.
Corrections
If a figure on SlotsRanker does not match the game, tell us through the contact page. We check the studio’s information, correct the figure everywhere it appears and recalculate the score.
