Verdict: read IGT games like cabinet games
IGT's online slots make most sense if you remember where they came from. They were designed for casino floors first, so many use per-line paytables, simple feature sets and returns set for machines rather than apps. That makes them easy to learn and a little easy to misread. Cleopatra's famous top award is the clearest example. For players who value history and plain rules, IGT is essential. For players who want modern multiplier systems, it will feel dated.
From A-1 Supply to Apollo
The company started in 1975 as A-1 Supply, founded by William "Si" Redd. It became SIRCOMA, short for "Si Redd Coin Machines", and later International Game Technology. It built its name on video poker, blackjack and keno machines. In 1987 it introduced Megabucks, a linked progressive slot network across Nevada.
The corporate structure has changed a lot since then. The name IGT now covers a different company from the one listed on the stock market until 2025:
- 1 July 2025: funds managed by Apollo Global Management completed their purchase of International Game Technology PLC's Gaming & Digital business and of Everi Holdings. Apollo says the combined company operates as IGT, is privately held and has its headquarters in Las Vegas. It has three units: Gaming, Digital and FinTech.
- July 2025: the former parent, which kept the lottery business, changed its legal name from International Game Technology PLC to Brightstar Lottery PLC, according to its SEC filing.
So the IGT behind the games on our site is the Apollo-owned, Las Vegas-based company, not the lottery group.
Three games, three kinds of IGT
IGT has three titles on SlotsRanker, and each shows a different side of its design. Verified specs:
| Game | Type | RTP | Volatility | Release |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cleopatra | Slot | 95.02% | Medium | 8 January 2012 |
| White Orchid | Slot | — | Medium | 10 July 2010 |
| Power Keno | Keno | 94.97% | — | — |
Cleopatra is the signature title, and its history on physical cabinets goes back further than the online release date we list. Our review explains its most misunderstood figure: the 10,000x top award is 10,000x the line bet. On 20 lines, that works out to 500x the total stake.
White Orchid shows IGT's MultiWay Xtra option. Players can use 40 lines, or pay double to switch to 1,024 ways. Our review found no documented RTP gain for doing so. What changes is how results are spread.
Power Keno comes straight from the company's early video keno machines. It has one extra rule: if the 20th ball drawn is one of your numbers, the whole win is multiplied by 4. As our review notes, the return also depends on how many spots you mark.
Taken together, the three games show a consistent approach: one feature per game, clearly stated, with the maths in the paytable rather than in layers of modifiers.
Where IGT's RTPs land
Both published RTPs on our IGT pages sit below 96%: 95.02% for Cleopatra and 94.97% for Power Keno. White Orchid's default RTP isn't settled, because sources list two versions. We haven't found a published studio-wide RTP policy, so we won't generalise beyond these games. The pattern is still worth knowing. These are land-based designs, and their returns are often set lower than those of online-first studios.
Who gets the most from IGT
- Players who know the classics from casino floors and want to try the same games for free.
- Paytable readers, because the per-line maths rewards careful reading.
- Keno players, since Power Keno is one of the few keno titles on our site.
If you judge a slot mainly by its maximum multiplier or feature count, look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
Pros
- A long, documented history, and one of the best-known back catalogues in slots.
- Simple, single-feature games that are easy to learn.
- Variety across formats, including slots with a MultiWay option and video keno.
Cons
- Headline figures are easy to misread, as Cleopatra's line-bet top award shows.
- The RTPs on our IGT pages are below 96%, and White Orchid's default isn't confirmed.
