Two of the studios in our catalogue have produced a game that draws on both their best-known ideas. Huff N' Puff CollectR takes the Three Little Pigs franchise from Light & Wonder and runs it on ELK Studios' CollectR mechanic, the system behind the Pirots series. Light & Wonder's iGaming listing gives the release date as 23 April 2026 and names Elk as the studio.
The game isn't in our catalogue. Both of its parent series are, through Huff N' Even More Puff Grand and Pirots 5, so this piece explains what the new release takes from each.
Why this is an in-house crossover
The pairing makes more sense once you know who owns whom. Light & Wonder, then trading as Scientific Games, announced on 1 December 2021 that it had acquired ELK Studios, the Stockholm-based developer. The release described ELK as an innovative European games developer and presented the deal as a way to strengthen the group's original iGaming content.
So Huff N' Puff CollectR is not a licence between unrelated companies. It is one studio in the group reworking a franchise from another. ELK's site still shows its own regulatory details, including its licence from the Gambling Commission in Great Britain and a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority.
What comes from the Pirots side
ELK's game page calls Huff N' Puff CollectR a 6x6 slot with the CollectR mechanic, an expanding grid, symbol transformations, wilds, a coin game, a bonus and a super bonus. Pigs replace the Pirots birds. As in Pirots, each pig moves around the grid collecting gems of its own colour, plus any feature symbol, and gems can be upgraded to higher levels.
The bonus trigger follows the Pirots pattern too. The pigs must collect three bonus symbols, and if one of them is a super bonus symbol, the super bonus game starts instead. ELK says the grid size, collection meter progress and gem upgrades all carry through the bonus. The X-iter menu is also here, with five modes ranging from a 3x bet with more than three times the chance of a bonus up to a 250x bet super bonus.
What comes from the Huff N' Puff side
The franchise's frame-and-house system has been rebuilt for the new grid. In the Hat Mania games, hats drop down and leave frames where they land, and a hat landing on an existing frame upgrades it. In the bonus, frames collected and upgraded through the round spawn houses. At the end, the wolf appears and blows the houses away to reveal coin wins.
Huff N' Even More Puff Grand works the same way on a 5x3 reel set, where frames upgrade from straw to stick to brick to diamond before the wolf arrives. The collector version keeps that final reveal but links it to CollectR progress.
Two features are new to this game:
- Wolf Crane. It collects symbols, triggers features and starts fights with the pigs. ELK says winning fights increase the Wolf Crane's win multiplier.
- Golden Wheel. It starts when the pigs or the wolf collect every symbol on the grid. It can award an instant win, Hat Mania, Mega Hat Mania, the Bonus or the Super Bonus.
Where the two official pages disagree
On the maximum, the two studios' own pages give different figures. ELK's page gives a potential of 5,000x the bet. Light & Wonder's listing says "up to 10,000x bet". We haven't been able to settle the difference from published material. If the game enters our catalogue, the max win field will show a dash until one figure is confirmed. That is our standard rule for conflicting specs.
Light & Wonder's listing also shows only one available version, at 94%. By comparison, the same company lists five RTP versions for Huff N' Even More Puff Grand, from 96% down to 87%. One listed version isn't proof that no others exist, so we treat 94% as the figure published so far, not the only setting.
What to try in the meantime
If you want to see both ideas before the crossover arrives, open Pirots 5 for CollectR and Huff N' Even More Puff Grand for the frames, houses and wheels. Both are free to play with virtual coins. Our slot features glossary explains cascades, collectors and feature buys, and RTP and volatility explained covers why one game can come in several RTP versions.
