Nolimit City, the Evolution-owned studio, has released Duck Hunters 2, the third game in the series that began with Duck Hunters in February 2025. The studio's game page lists early access from 3 September 2026 and general release on 10 September. The "NOW LIVE" post on its site confirms the launch.
The sequel isn't in our catalogue yet. The original is, and since the new game builds directly on its rules, this is a good moment to compare the two.
The release in numbers
Nolimit City's page for the sequel lists:
- RTP: 96.00%
- Hit frequency: 17.68%
- Free spins frequency: 1 in 203
- Maximum: 40,000x the base bet
- Chance of the maximum: 1 in 88 million
- Feature buy and bonus modes: yes
The volatility field on the page was blank when we checked, so we don't give a rating here.
For comparison, the studio's page for the original lists a 96.05% RTP, a 17.07% hit frequency, the same 1 in 203 free spins frequency, a 30,000x cap and a 1 in 22 million chance of reaching it. The series' middle game, Duck Hunters: Happy Hour, released on 13 January 2026, lists 96.07% and 33,333x on a 4-5-6-6-5-4 reel layout.
In short, the sequel raises the ceiling by a third over the original, keeps the bonus frequency the same, and makes the maximum four times rarer.
The multiplier engine, doubled again
The core rule is unchanged. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere form a win. Each position a winning symbol is removed from gets a x2 multiplier, and a position that wins again on the next drop doubles its value. The per-position limit rises from x8192 in the original to x16,384 in the sequel.
Two additions change how multipliers get started. Random multipliers can now appear on random positions at the start of each spin. The Bomb also works differently. In the original, a Bomb cleared a 3x3 area and doubled the multipliers there. In Duck Hunters 2, it fires when no winning combinations are left, removes itself and every symbol above it on its reel, and raises the multipliers in a rising sequence: x2 on its own position, x4 on the one above, x8 on the next, and so on.
Free spins get six possible upgrades
The three bonus tiers keep their names and spin counts: 7 Duck Hunt Spins from three bonus symbols, 8 Hawk Eye Spins from four, and 10 Big Game Spins from five. The upgrade pool has grown from three options to six:
- Upgraded xWays, which swaps xWays for Infectious xWays
- Upgraded Bomb, which clears both above and below its position
- Extra +2 Shots, worth two extra spins instead of one
- +2 Upgrades, which adds two more upgrades to the round
- Extra Multipliers, which places five on random positions on the first spin
- +1 Spin at the start
Duck Hunt Spins award one upgrade at random, Hawk Eye two and Big Game three. Two new bought rounds, xWays Juicer and Bomb Juicer, each run seven spins with one upgrade guaranteed on every spin. They cost 500 and 2,800 times the base bet.
Boosters, extra spins and side bets
The Day boosters that set the starting value of every position have been rebuilt. The original offered Day 2, Day 64 and Day 1024. The sequel lists Day 8, Day 64, Day 512 and Day 2048, costing from 10 to 4,000 times the base bet. There are also a Bonus Booster and a Bonus Hunt option.
Two further features are new. xTra lets a player buy one more spin that keeps the current position multipliers, or a cheaper spin with the multipliers halved. It is only offered when its cost is no more than the previous win. Side Hustle is a set of optional add-on bets on specific events, such as a named character being removed, a position reaching x16,384, or a base spin ending with no win.
Why it matters for the series
Our review of the original argued that every feature exists to push one visible meter, the multiplier on each position. The sequel sticks to that and adds more ways to change the meter before and during a spin. Much of the extra depth comes through paid options. The bonus buy guide explains how buy prices relate to the stake.
If we add Duck Hunters 2 to the catalogue, its record will use the studio's figures. Until then, the original is playable free with virtual coins.
