Quick verdict: same candy engine, different faces

Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice takes Pragmatic Play's Sweet Bonanza 1000 and redraws its pay symbols as dice. That is the whole twist. There is no dice roll, no dice-sum feature and no new round; the symbols are dice-shaped, the lollipop scatter stays a lollipop, and the published rules (scatter pays on a 6x5 grid, tumbles, 10 free spins, multipliers from x2 to x1,000, 25,000x top award) match the 1000 edition line for line.

So the judgement is simple. If you already like how Sweet Bonanza 1000 plays but want a different look, this is that game with a new art pass. If you want something that actually behaves differently, the newer Sweet Bonanza 2500 is the one that changes the maths, with bigger multipliers and more feature modes. Read on for exactly what the dice replace, how each rule works and what the published numbers mean in practice.

What the dice actually change

This is the question most people have, so it comes first. The Dice edition is a slot that uses dice as its symbol art. It is not a craps-style or sic bo-style game, and nothing is rolled.

Here is the symbol set as published rule summaries describe it:

  • Low-value symbols: fruit dice in five colours, pink, blue, green, yellow and red. Some descriptions name the same tier by fruit instead (apple, lemon, pear, grapes and cherries dice). This tier is widely reported to pay from x0.25 to x10 the bet, depending on how many land.
  • High-value symbols: four special dice, the blue diamond, green star, purple moon and red heart. These are widely reported to pay x1.5 to x50 the bet.
  • Scatter: still the lollipop from the original series.

In Sweet Bonanza 1000 those same slots on the paytable are filled by fruit and candy pieces. Pragmatic's own page for Sweet Bonanza 1000 says wins occur when eight or more identical "fruit or candy symbols" land. In the Dice edition, the same eight-plus rule applies to dice. The difference is in the design: the symbols turn from sweets into dice icons, while the grid, the win rule and the bonus round stay where they were.

The strongest sign that the underlying maths is shared is the published numbers. Both titles list:

  • the same 96.53% top RTP, with the same 95.52% and 94.51% lower versions
  • the same 25,000x maximum win
  • the same multiplier range of x2 to x1,000
  • the same mode-specific RTPs: 96.50% with the ante bet, 96.52% for the free spins buy and 96.55% for the super buy

Pragmatic's internal maths files aren't public, so it would be wrong to call the two games identical. What can be said is that every published figure lines up, and no published rule differs between them.

One detail that isn't published is how the multiplier symbol is drawn in the Dice edition. In Sweet Bonanza 1000, Pragmatic calls them candy bomb multipliers, and they are often described as rainbow bombs. Whether they became dice too isn't stated in the published material, so this review won't guess.

How a base game spin plays out

The base game works on scatter pays. There are no paylines. After a spin fills the 6x5 grid, the game counts every symbol of each type anywhere on screen. You need at least eight of the same symbol for a win, with pays rising at bands of 8 to 9, 10 to 11 and 12 or more. That 8 to 12+ structure is the one Pragmatic describes for the series.

A win starts a tumble:

  1. The winning symbols are paid and removed from the grid.
  2. The remaining symbols drop down to fill the gaps.
  3. New symbols fall in from above.
  4. If the new layout forms another win of eight or more, it pays and tumbles again.
  5. The chain stops when a drop produces no new win.

One paid spin can therefore produce several wins. Each tumble is judged on its own layout, so a chain can pay one symbol type first and a different one on the next drop. Most base game wins are small, because the low-tier dice need big clusters to pay much, and there are no multipliers outside free spins to lift them.

It helps to picture how the pay bands work. Eight pink dice pay the lowest band for that symbol, and every pink die on screen counts toward that total, wherever it sits. Once they are paid, all of them are removed. If the drop that follows brings in new pink dice, they start a fresh count from what is now on screen, so they need to reach eight again to pay. That is why long chains are usually built from several separate modest wins rather than one growing cluster.

The lollipop scatter pays on its own. Four scatters pay 3x the bet, five pay 5x and six pay 100x, in line with the published Sweet Bonanza 1000 rules, and any four or more also start free spins. Scatters don't need to sit next to each other or on particular reels; they count from anywhere on the grid.

Free spins, step by step

Free spins are where this game earns its "1000" name, because that's where the multipliers appear.

  1. Trigger. Land four or more lollipop scatters anywhere in one base spin. You get the scatter pay listed above plus 10 free spins.
  2. Spins run with tumbles. Each free spin plays like a base spin, with the same eight-plus scatter pays and tumbling.
  3. Multiplier symbols drop. Multiplier symbols can land during free spins. Published rule summaries list the possible values as x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x8, x10, x12, x15, x20, x25, x50, x100 and x1,000.
  4. They stay for the whole tumble chain. A multiplier that lands stays on the grid until that spin's tumble sequence ends. It doesn't disappear when the symbols around it tumble.
  5. They add together. When the chain ends, all multiplier values on screen are added up, not multiplied together, and the total is applied to that spin's total win. Two multipliers of x10 and x25 make x35, not x250.
  6. No win, no boost. A multiplier only matters if the tumble chain it sits in produced a win. Per Pragmatic's Sweet Bonanza 1000 description, multipliers boost the total win of the sequence.
  7. Retrigger. Three or more scatters during free spins award 5 more spins. Retriggers add to the spins remaining, so a round can run well past its first 10 spins.

The adding rule is important for expectations. A single x1,000 on a spin that pays 2x awards 2,000x. Several mid-range multipliers together, say x50, x25 and x20, only make x95. The large results come from a big tumble chain landing alongside a high multiplier, not from stacking lots of small ones.

RTP and volatility for this game, in plain numbers

The game comes in three RTP versions: 96.53%, 95.52% and 94.51%. The operator picks the version, and the game looks the same in all three. Over a very long run of spins, the 96.53% version is designed to return 96.53 units per 100 wagered, and the 94.51% version returns about two units less per 100. That gap is invisible in a short session but real over thousands of spins, so it's worth checking the game's info screen, where Pragmatic titles normally show the RTP.

Published rule summaries also list mode-specific RTPs on the top version:

  • 96.50% with the ante bet switched on
  • 96.52% when buying free spins
  • 96.55% when buying super free spins

These differ from the 96.53% base by a few hundredths of a percent, so in design terms the modes are almost neutral against each other.

Volatility is listed as High, the top of the usual scale. In practice that means:

  • Free spins are rare, because four or more scatters must land on a single spin. Many sessions will end without a trigger.
  • Much of the RTP is held back for the multiplier round, so the base game alone returns noticeably less than 96.53% between features.
  • Results within any bonus vary widely. A round with no big multiplier on a winning chain can return less than the 100x a free spins buy costs.

None of this can be timed. Every spin is independent, and a long gap since the last trigger doesn't make the next one more likely.

How 25,000x is reached, and how rarely

The max win is 25,000x the bet, and it's a cap: once total wins from a spin or feature reach 25,000x, the round ends there and any remaining free spins are forfeited. Reaching the cap is an extremely rare event by design.

Realistically there is only one route. It needs free spins, since multipliers appear only there, and it needs the top-tier multipliers. A x1,000 on a tumble chain that pays 25x gets there on its own. So would x100 plus x50 plus several smaller values on a chain paying well over 100x. The six-scatter pay of 100x helps the total but only makes a small dent in 25,000x.

For context, the original Sweet Bonanza is widely reported to cap multipliers at x100, which is why the "1000" editions raised the top award.

It's worth separating the two numbers people often confuse. The x1,000 figure is the largest single multiplier symbol. The 25,000x figure is the most a spin or bonus can award in total. A x1,000 multiplier doesn't guarantee a large result, because it multiplies the win of its own tumble chain, and a chain that pays 0.5x turns into 500x, not 25,000x.

Ante bet and bonus buy options

Ante bet. The ante bet raises your stake by 25% and increases the chance of landing scatters, so free spins trigger more often. It doesn't change the pay table or the multiplier values; it only changes how the reels are weighted for scatters. Its RTP is 96.50%, a few hundredths below the standard setting, so it is close to neutral over the long run. As is usual in the series, the ante bet and the feature buy aren't used together on the same spin.

Bonus buy. Where the feature buy is enabled (it isn't available in every market), two options are listed:

  • Free spins buy for 100x the bet. Starts the standard 10-spin round straight away.
  • Super free spins buy for 500x the bet. Starts free spins where every multiplier that lands is at least x20.

The super buy removes the low x2 to x15 values, which raises the floor on every multiplier. But 500x is a steep entry cost for a round that can still return less than that. On a social site with virtual coins this doesn't matter financially, but it shows you how the design spreads outcomes.

Against Sweet Bonanza 1000. As covered above, every published number matches. Choose whichever art style you prefer. The candy original reads a bit more clearly at a glance because each symbol has a distinct shape. The Dice edition relies more on colour and face icons to separate symbols. Some players may find the dice theme an odd fit for a candy series. That's a matter of taste, not a mechanical problem.

Against Sweet Bonanza 2500. This is where things really change. Pragmatic's page for 2500 says candy bomb multipliers can reach 2,500x in the bonus game, and published summaries list 16 possible multiplier values from 2x to 2,500x. The top RTP is almost the same (96.52%) and the cap is still 25,000x. The menu is much wider, though:

  • a 100x free spins buy
  • a 500x Super Free Spins 1, where all multipliers are at least 20x
  • a 1,000x Super Free Spins 2, where every multiplier in a winning combination goes into a running total applied to all wins for the rest of the round (launch coverage describes this mode as having a 10x minimum with a progressive total)
  • Super Spin 1 at 20x the bet, which guarantees multiplier symbols on every base spin but blocks free spins
  • Super Spin 2 at 250x the bet, which guarantees multipliers of at least 25x on each base spin, also without free spins

Launch coverage notes these special bets and buys appear only in certain markets. Even so, a running total multiplier in a bonus and multipliers in the base game are real design changes. The Dice edition has neither.

In short: Sweet Bonanza 1000 and the Dice edition are the same idea with two looks. Sweet Bonanza 2500 is the sequel.

Who Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice suits

  • Fans of Sweet Bonanza 1000 who want a new look. Same rules and published statistics, with dice art in place of candy.
  • Players comfortable with long dry spells. A four-scatter trigger and High volatility mean long gaps between features.
  • Anyone who wants a straightforward tumble slot. There are no collection meters, no persistent multiplier trails and no extra modes to learn beyond ante and the two buys.

It suits you less if you want frequent features, if you find dice faces harder to scan than distinct candy shapes, or if you want the added modes and bigger multipliers of the 2500 edition.

Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice: the strong points and the drawbacks

Pros

  • A proven design: scatter pays, tumbles and adding multipliers up to x1,000, with a 25,000x cap
  • Top RTP version of 96.53%, with feature modes that stay within a few hundredths of it
  • Straightforward rules, one bonus round and a simple retrigger (3+ scatters for 5 spins)
  • The super free spins buy guarantees x20-minimum multipliers, where offered

Cons

  • The dice are cosmetic only; there's nothing here Sweet Bonanza 1000 doesn't already do
  • Free spins are rare and base game wins are mostly small
  • Lower RTP versions of 95.52% and 94.51% exist, and the release date is reported inconsistently

Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice FAQ

Is Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice a dice game?

No. It's a 6x5 video slot. The dice are only symbol art. Nothing is rolled, and results come from scatter pays and tumbles like every other game in the series.

What's the difference between Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Sweet Bonanza 1000 Dice?

Going by the published rules, only the symbols. Fruit and candy are replaced with fruit dice for the low tier and diamond, star, moon and heart dice for the high tier. Top RTP, max win, multiplier range, free spins rules and mode-specific RTPs all match.

What is the RTP?

Three versions exist: 96.53%, 95.52% and 94.51%. The ante bet version runs at 96.50%, the free spins buy at 96.52% and the super buy at 96.55%.

What's the max win?

25,000x the bet. It is an extremely rare result, and in practice it needs free spins with high multipliers.

How do you trigger free spins?

Land four or more lollipop scatters for 10 free spins. Four, five or six scatters also pay 3x, 5x or 100x the bet. Three or more scatters during the round add 5 spins.

How do the multipliers work?

In free spins, multiplier symbols worth x2 to x1,000 stay on the grid until the tumble chain ends. Their values are added together and applied to that sequence's total win.

Is there a bonus buy?

Yes, where available: 100x the bet for free spins, or 500x for super free spins, where multipliers are at least x20. There's also a 25% ante bet that increases the chance of scatters.

When was it released?

Early 2025. Some listings give 29 January 2025 and others 27 February 2025, and Pragmatic Play hasn't published a dedicated page for the Dice edition that settles it.
