Our verdict on Spinomenal

Spinomenal is a franchise studio first and an experimental studio second. It finds a theme that works, usually a myth or an animal, and returns to it again and again with new numbered chapters and spin-offs. If you like to follow a series over several years, its catalogue is easy to find your way around. If you want every release to try something structurally new, you'll find more repetition here than at the boutique studios.

The demo network we use carries 763 titles from this studio, which reflects how much it has released. None of those titles is yet among the games we cover with full verified specs and a written review, so this page describes the studio rather than comparing individual games.

A Valletta address and a stack of regulator numbers

Spinomenal was founded in 2014, and its about page names Lior Shvartz as founder and chief executive. The operating company is SubTech Ltd, registered in Malta under number C90277, with an office address on South Street in Valletta. When iGaming Business covered the studio's Maltese licence in May 2020, it described Spinomenal as Israel-based with offices in Birkirkara. Its current published address is in Valletta, and that is the headquarters we use here.

The studio's compliance page is unusually detailed. It lists:

  • a UK Gambling Commission combined remote operating licence, issued in August 2022
  • a Class A1 manufacturer's permit from Greece's Hellenic Gaming Commission, issued in December 2022
  • a Class II licence from Romania's ONJN, issued in February 2022
  • a Malta Gaming Authority recognition notice, issued in September 2024
  • ISO 27001 certification and approval from BMM Testlabs

It publishes no parent company, so we list none.

Spinomenal also runs an aggregation platform that gives operators access to thousands of games from other studios. That side of the business explains part of its reach, but this review covers only the games it makes itself.

Why the Demi Gods keep coming back

The clearest way to understand Spinomenal is through its longest-running series. Demi Gods is a Greek-myth franchise that has reached a seventh main chapter, Demi Gods 7 – Nightfall. It also has "Book of" spin-offs such as Book of Demi Gods III and Book of Demi Gods 5, which take the same characters into the "Book of" format.

Wolf Fang is a second long-running line with several variants, including Wolf Fang – Ice & Fire. Majestic King led to a spin-off, Book of Majestic King. A 777 line, which includes 777 – Thunder Hits, covers the classic fruit and sevens space.

For players, this has a practical benefit. If you've learned how one Demi Gods chapter works, the next one rarely asks you to start from scratch. The downside is just as clear: with so many chapters and spin-offs, it can be hard to tell which one changed something that matters.

Hold & Hit, Moving Reels and the Universe idea

Spinomenal's homepage names a handful of mechanics that recur across its releases:

  • Hold & Hit, a named feature used in games such as Blazing Rhino and Zeus Unchained.
  • Moving Reels, a feature in Demi Gods II.
  • Colossus Symbols, oversized symbols used in 4 Horsemen.
  • Free Spins Journey, a progression feature in Demi Gods II that moves through stages on Mount Olympus.

The studio also describes a "Universe Concept", which it says links gameplay across titles. In practice this fits the franchise habit: characters and settings return, and features are carried from one chapter to the next.

Spinomenal says it releases one to three new HTML5 games a month. It also runs SpinoLeague, a tournament product for operators. That's an operator tool rather than a game feature, and it plays no part in the demo versions people play for virtual coins.

RTP and volatility: what Spinomenal publishes

Spinomenal doesn't publish one studio-wide approach to RTP or volatility on the pages we checked. Each game carries its own figures, so we don't quote a typical number for the studio. When we add verified Spinomenal games, their specs will appear on each game page.

Who Spinomenal's games are for

  • Series followers who like returning characters and prefer small changes between chapters to a new ruleset every time.
  • "Book of" fans, because the spin-offs bring that format to the studio's own worlds.
  • Players who like a recurring feature, since Hold & Hit turns up across several themes.

If you prefer grid-changing mechanics or cluster systems, the boutique studios are a better match.

Strengths and weaknesses

Pros

  • Detailed, public licence and certification information, including numbered UK, Greek, Romanian and Maltese permits.
  • Long-running series make it easy to find games with rules you already know.
  • A steady release schedule means the catalogue keeps growing.

Cons

  • The number of numbered chapters and spin-offs makes it harder to tell which release changed what.
  • No studio-wide RTP or volatility guidance was published on the pages we reviewed.
